Tyler Merson - Class Coach, USAG & Xcel Coach & Birthday Party Coordinator. Tyler has been involved with gymnastics since he was 5 years old; he reached Level 10 in Men's Artistic Gymnastics. After dealing with a recurring knee injury, Tyler took a break from gymnastics and joined Frederick Area Divers where he competed in the sport for 5 years. Next, Tyler was ready to get back in the gym and began practicing in Tramp & Tumbling Gymnastics; as a power tumbler Tyler made it to the 2012 Tramp & Tumbling Nationals, where he placed 5th in his division.
Valerie Dalton - Team Coordinator, USAG & Xcel Coach . Valerie was a competitive gymnast since 2001, she competed under the instruction of Dr. Farzaneh Wlotzka. By the time Valerie graduated high school in 2009, she was a level 10 gymnast. Valerie went on to attend Towson University and graduated in 2009 with a bachelors in Sports Management, with a minor in Business Administration. She has been coaching gymnastics since 2005, and has experience coaching gymnasts of all levels.
Ann Marie Poole - Tumble, Excel & Learn Director & Teacher. Ann Marie earned her bachelors degree in Recreation and Leisure Administration, with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation. Ann Marie was a competitive gymnast herself and has extensive coaching experience, she has taught a range of ages and skill levels... from Mommy & Me through USAG Level 10. Many of Ann Marie's teams went on to win Maryland State Championship Titles, her title winning teams include: Level 5 in 2004, Level 6 in 2005, Level 7 in 2006, Level 8 (2nd Place) in 2008 and Level 9 on 2009 (Eastern National Floor Champion). Ann Marie now enjoys watching her former gymnasts compete at the collegiate level!
Natascha Wlotzka, MBA - Private trainer. Natascha received her bachelors degree in Kinesiology (the study of movement) from the University of Maryland. In 2014, Natascha earned her Masters degree in Business Administration from Hood College. Natascha competed in gymnastics for 12 years; she has competed at 2 meets internationally, representing the U.S. in 2 invitational competitions in France where she competed as a level 9. During her gymnastics career, Natascha reached level 10. She now consults with the business portion of the club, she has 12 years of coaching experience and works with Farzi in the creation of floor routines.
Dr. Farzaneh Wlotzka - Owner. Dr. Wlotzka earned her bachelors degree in physical education, then went on to earn her doctorate degree in Counseling and Student Development. Farzi competed as a gymnast for 11 years, in Tehran, Iran; she was on the Iranian National Team and competed in the 1974 Asian Olympics. She has over 40 years of coaching experience, levels 2 - Elite. Under her instruction, athletes competed and placed at Level 10 Nationals. Farzi has an intense passion for gymnastics and teaches all levels, although, she specializes in coaching upper level beam and floor. Addtionally, Farzi choreographs all floor routines here at EGS and has extensive experience creating routines following the USAG Code of Points.
